In Nov 2002 icestorm, I left office late and noticed a bit of ice on the windshield but streets were dry ... until I hit the big bridge on Luna Rd. I hit the bump as the street abruptly ends and bridge begins and my 95 2+2 was sideways before I realized there was even any ice. I thought I had managed to straighten it out, but then ended up drifting on the downside of the bridge sideways. I bumped the guardrail and airbags deployed; however this and slightly damaged left front was only damage. Meanwhile there was someone else at the bottom who had also lost it, and while I was pushing mine down off the street, another one came over out of control as well. Quite a bizarre scene! After I collected myself, I figured out car was driveable and aside from deployed airbags seemed quite normal. In the end, State Farm totalled it and gave me a check for $15K + salvaged car which I sold it over e-Bay to a guy Canada for $4,500; and I bought my current 95 Z32TT for $21.9K. So things worked out nicely in the end, but you can bet that I left the office early today!
